Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Pandan Wangi “Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.’’ Terhadap Waktu Induksi Tidur dan Durasi Tidur Mencit

Sleep plays a role in restoring the body's biochemical and physiological processes which decrease when awake. The general public is not yet familiar with sleep disturbances, so they rarely seek help. Sleep disturbances can cause family problems and are at risk of fatal traffic accidents. Fragant Pandan leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) Contain alkaloids, saponins and flavonoids which can provide a hypnotic sedative effect. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving fragant pandan leaf extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) In shortening the sleep induction time of male Swiss Webster strain mice. This study uses an experimental laboratory research with post-test only design with control goup design. The test animals used were 25 Swiss Webster male mice in five goups randomly provided that the K1 goup was given distilled water, K2 was given diazepam dose 1 mg / KgBB, the P1, P2 and P3 goups were given fragant pandan leaf extract with a dose of 4 mg each. / 25 g BB, 6 mg / 25 g BB and 8 mg / 25 g BB. One Way ANOVA statistical test showed that indigo p = 0,000 so that there were significant differences in mice sleep onset and sleep duration of mice between goups. The results of the post hoc test using LSD analysis showed that there were significant differences between positive controls with goups P1, P2 and P3. Fragrant pandan leaf extract (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) Dose of 8 mg / g BB can shorten the time of mice sleep induction but has no effect on the duration of sleep of male Swiss Webster strain mice. While the dose of 4 mg / g BB cannot shorten the time of induction of sleeping mice, it still has an effect on the duration of sleep for male mice, strain Swiss Webste
